GOOGLE HAS HIRED FIVE LAW FIRMS FROM BRUSSELS TO PREPARE FOR THE CONTESTATION OF THE RECORD ANTITRUST FINE OF 2,4 BILLION EUROS THAT THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION HAS IMPOSED. GOOGLE COULD ALSO BE LIABLE FOR A SECOND PENALTY BEFORE THE END OF THIS YEAR.

The fine was imposed by the EU executive due to the fact that Google might have incorrectly favored its own shopping comparison service in the results of online search results.
The EU regulatory authorities might once more sanction Google, part of the Alphabet Inc. group, with a new record fine regarding de Android operating system, while a third investigation refers to the Adsense for Search platform.
The General Court in Luxembourg, the second highest European Court, will be the first field of battle for Google, if, as it is expected will challenge the fine and the changes in its business practices that the European Commission has imposed in June.
