ROMANIA COLLECTED IN 2014 THE AMOUNT OF 3,641 BILLION EUROS FROM ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES, WHICH REPRESENTED 8,8 % OF TOTAL REVENUE FROM TAXES AND SOCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE COUNTRY IN THAT YEAR, SHOWS DATA CONCERNING THE ENVIRONMENT IN THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION PUBLISHED BY EUROSTAT.

Furthermore, according to Eurostat, between 2004 and 2014, the amounts collected from Romania’s environment taxes have doubled.
The data shows that the largest share of the environment taxes of Romania is represented by the energy taxes (88.9%), followed by transport (10.8%) while taxes on pollution and resources have a share of 0,3 %.
