FOR THE ACTIVITIES THEY PERFORM, DAY LABORERS ARE PAID ACCORDING TO THE GROSS MINIMUM WAGE, AS ESTABLISHED THROUGH THE AMENDMENT OF THE DAY LABORERS LAW. THEREFORE, INCREASING THE MINIMUM WAGE SHALL AUTOMATICALLY LEAD TO THE INCREASING OF THE REMUNERATION THAT DAY LABORERS SHALL RECEIVE.

According to Law no. 52/2011, the remuneration of the day laborers is a result of direct negotiation between day laborers and beneficiaries for whom they develop occasional unqualified activities.

The law stipulates that the amount of the payment per hour shall be at least at the value of the gross minimum wage per hour.

From 1st January 2015, the gross minimum wage shall increase from 900 RON to 975 RON because the Government has recently adopted the Decision no. 1091/2014 in this regard.

According to the Labor Code, the period of work for full-time employees is 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week, which means that in a month are accumulated about 170 hours.
Thus, from 1st January, for a total of 170 hours worked in a month, the value shall be of 5.7 RON per hour higher than the actual value of 5.3 RON per hour.

Day laborers may perform occasional activities for at least one day, meaning 8 hours of work. Also, the law provides that the daily duration may be at most 12 hours and day laborers can develop activities for the same beneficiary for up to 90 days per year.

The remuneration of the day laborers is made at the end of each day by any means of payment permitted by law.
