THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION HAS PRESENTED, AT STRASBOURG, COPYRIGHT MODERNIZATION PROPOSALS AIMING TO IMPROVE THE CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN EUROPE, IN THE AVAILABLE ONLINE CONTENT AND TO PLACE AT THE SAME TIME MORE IMAGES FOR ALL PLAYERS IN THE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT.

The new online services, such as streaming music, video on demand and news platforms have become very popular and consumers expect more and more, to be able to access the cultural content when moving or when crossing borders. The new digital landscape will create opportunities for European creators, as long as the norms deliver clarity and legal security for all the actors in the field.
Although almost half of the internet users in the EU listen to music, watch TV and movies or play online games, radio broadcasters and other operators encounter difficulties in obtaining permits for the provision of their services online or digital cameras in other countries of the EU. Therefore, the proposals submitted and adopted by the European Commission on the copyrights are part of the strategy on the single market digital camera.
