STARTING WITH THE 1ST OF MAY 2016, THE EU CUSTOMS CODE AND THE ACTS OF ITS IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (DELEGATE AND THE IMPLEMENTING REGULATION OF THE COMMISSION) WILL BE FULLY APPLIED IN ROMANIA.

The appearance of the new Customs Code is an important step in the process of modernization of the customs legislation at the level of all the 28 Member States by creating an IT infrastructure to enable easy access by electronic means without it being necessary to use the forms on paper. An important part of such modernization is custom electronic (e-customs), that is expected to assure a better cooperation between the customs and tax, an increase in the collection and the fight against fraud and, last but not least, a partnership with the operators of good faith in order to facilitate the trade market.
